Delivering A DiagnosisBaskets of Love is a first-responder concierge service for families receiving a new diagnosis of Trisomy 21. You may offer our complimentary gift basket as part of your conversation with patients. Just for them to know there are parents out there waiting to connect and welcome them and provide real-life insights and practical information, if/when they are ready, is a great comfort. The parents that have received initial communication with other parents in the Down syndrome community upon a diagnosis report positive experiences. It's easier to cope when that introduction is available and facilitated via a trusted health care provider.

How it Works |
Whether the diagnosis is delivered to the patient prenatally or at birth, you can pass along a calling card, so that if and when they are ready to receive their complimentary gift basket, they have contact information to utilize at their leisure. The gift basket includes a handcrafted newborn blanket, baby clothing and/or accessories, children's book, treats, and most importantly a personal 'congratulations' letter and compilation of personal stories. As soon as they call, Lezlie or one of our local parents who contributed their personal stories will coordinate with the parent to hand-deliver the gift basket. That way, there is no need for your facility to store anything other than the calling cards.
Lezlie and her friends at Baskets of Love are thrilled to expand their network to include independent midwives and doulas, in addition to existing partnerships with Boulder Valley hospitals, to ensure even more families are connected with our Down syndrome community early on in their journey.
